Halloween Lights Up Early Learning

Halloween is a celebration for kids, and for the rest of us too. In a way, it’s a celebration of opposites, of light and dark, of spookiness and friendliness. The dark night is lighted with shining jack-o-lanterns, candles, fireworks, and flashlights. What could be more friendly than sharing sweet treats no matter the scary costumes?halloween-light-learningLearning is also said to be enlightening. And at Halloween, kids are not only celebrating but learning too. They are learning about how it feels to be a little scared, being part of a larger community, participating in traditions, imagining and creating and much, much more. Learning doesn’t happen by itself, it occurs within an experience. Halloween is an exciting experience for young children, with lights for the dark night, and learning for bright minds.

Happy Halloween!
