Halloween is a busy, eventful night and who has time to think about learning and kindergarten readiness? But lots of learning is happening anyway. Young children are taking in the sights, sounds and tastes and building their knowledge and memories of the different things that happen at Halloween. They also have an opportunity to participate in a much larger group than the family, daycare or even their community. The whole continent is celebrating together.
Before going out, it’s good to take a few minutes to talk about safety. Kids only go out with parents or adults, save treats for eating after they have been checked, and walk on sidewalks being careful not to trip on costumes. Have a happy and safe Halloween!
