Earlier this month, we had lots of activities for kid’s very own “All About Me” books, since this is knowvember and time for getting to know about ourselves and others. With all the fun and celebration for Thanksgiving, it’s a great time for kids to show and share their special books. They can ‘read’the pages and tell all about making them. Fun, learning and kindergarten readiness.
But it doesn’t stop there. Take a few pictures and include them in these books for more reading and writing. Here are some examples: This is the oven. It smells good. Or, how about: This is my Grandma. She tells stories. The one I’d choose is: This is the kids washing the dishes.
Another option is having kids, or grown-up visitors, draw a picture and write a simple sentence or two for your child to read. Reading is one of the very most wonderful gifts we can share with our kids.
Haaapppy Thanksgiving. Enjoy the day!!
