Happy Valentine’s Day! No matter how busy your day today, there’s some things you can do to make it special that take no extra time at all! When getting clothes out for the day, find something that’s red or pink. At breakfast, can you add something red to eat? Maybe a few cranberries with cereal this morning. For snack, some strawberry slices could be yummy. For lunch, a cherry tomato goes with just about anything.Physical activity like walking to the bus or picking up the mail is good for the heart. At supper, spaghetti has red sauce. Pizza does, too. (A little bit of shaping turns a round crust into a heart.) And at bedtime? A story that’s already read!
Little things add up to make a big difference when it comes to kindergarten readiness and children’s memories of growing up. While kids may not remember the specific things we do, they will remember that it was fun and exciting and that they felt special. That’s the best valentine of all. Does your heart agree?
