The zoom, zoom could be the speed at which the month of December whizzes by, but it’s the name of a fun Christmas activity that includes kindergarten readiness and learning. Play is a great way to learn and both boys and girls enjoy playing with cars, trucks, and other toys with wheels–or even some without.
For some simple science learning, about how wheels can make things go zoom, zoom, give your child a basic ramp. This one is made out of stiff cardboard cut from a box. The younger child just liked using it as a cardboard road; it was too hard to get the car to go up the ramp! The older one experimented with making the ramp taller, putting animals in the cars, and even using some without wheels. There was lots of fun and learning, as well as lots of toys all over the floor.
